About Me

I am a final year student studying Computer Science at the National University of Singapore.

I am currently pursuing a specialization in Networking and Distributed Systems, and have a deep passion for Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, specifically in Natural Language Processing.

I am still actively practising to hone my skills and broaden my horizons.

I was part of the Sirius Scholars Program which aims to provide promising students with meaningful guidance, opportunities, and exposure so as to develop compassionate, informed, and skilful leaders for the 21st century. I was also the Welfare Head of Audio Visual Club which plays an important role in supporting all types of events in school, including the daily morning flag-raising ceremony.

Experience

Full-Stack Developer Intern

NUS Information Technology

‣ Lead a team of 3 to develop a web-based learning management system using React hosted on AWS Amplify with DynamoDB and S3 Storage for NUSIT Service Desk personnel and trainers.
‣ Architected and developed the backend system such as the database schema, authentication and file storage.
‣ Integrated the backend with the frontend and created a CI/CD pipeline for the web application.
‣ Conducted user testing twice a week with the trainers to understand their needs for the application. Enhanced their user experience significantly based on their comments. Designed the system to suit the needs of the trainers in terms of their course structure.
‣ Developed most of the features ranging from courses and users management to artificial intelligence features such as event trackers and reinforced learning.

Speech Modelling Intern

NUS Information Technology

‣ Trained a custom speech model from IBM to understand language and acoustics using local voice recordings.
‣ Implemented transcription, dialogue synthesis, and speaker diarization features for a website that hosts the language speech model for NUS IT.
‣ Refined the speech model by showing the accuracy and effectiveness of the transcriptions based on the training history data. Done by using IBM STT API with the correct training parameters for the best results.

Chatbot Developer

NUS Faculty of Science(FoS)

‣ Created a chatbot to guide prospective applicants on application procedures in FoS with relevant information.
‣ Liaised with the stakeholders for the routing and content of the chatbot as well as update the deprecated links.

Aug 2020 - Nov 2020

Full-Stack Developer Intern

‣ Headed a team of 4 in developing NUSKY, a Virtual Assistant for NUS personnel.
‣ Integrated the various Cloud-Based Technologies (AWS and IBM) into the NUSKY backend and implemented the frontend in React Native.
‣ Developed Speech to Text and Text to Speech features for NUSKY.
‣ Prototyped a timetable reader in Flutter to be migrated to uNivUS, an official mobile application for NUS.

‣ Pioneered the development of a virtual assistant for NUSIT personnel and prototyped a base application.
‣ Researched and evaluated cloud services, voice technologies and mobile application frameworks such as React Native, Android Studio, Flutter, and Swift for suitability on the project and organisation.

Networking & Chatbot Intern

‣ Created an automated wireless network monitoring using Powershell scripting which returns a status of NUS Wi-Fi connectivity and strength that can be queried from a chatbot at any time.
‣ Developed a cognitive chatbot for NUS freshmen using IBM Watson and deployed it to Slack.
‣ Developed a virtual assistant on Echo Dot that handles administrative tasks such as the scheduling of meetings, receptionist, etc. It is capable of contacting the relevant staff needed in the organisation.

‣ Set up laptops and servers by doing the initial configurations.
‣ Ensured that various schools with iPad have the relevant security certificates set up in the system.
‣ Part of the SSOE2 project and went to Nanyang Junior College to configure the laptops for the upgrade.
